"Being fearless isn't being 100% not fearful, it's being terrified but you jump anyway."
-Taylor Swift

Each of us has our own fear. Sometimes, because of too much fear, we miss out the greater things life has in store for us. We tend to forget how to live our dreams and just hide inside our own comfortable shell. However, life doesn't like to see us like that. Life wants to see us fighting. Life wants us to conquer our fears. Life wants us to be victorious. And if you are able to surpass those challenges, you'll realize how sweet and how exhilarating your triumph is.

Life, of course, gives us a few hints that we should start conquering our fears. They may come in the form of problems, the environment or even the people surrounding you. And I am just so glad to have a bunch of cool friends who wants to do some crazy stuff just to accept every challenge life bestows on us. This time we decided to have one heck of an adventure at Papa Kit's Marina and Fishing Lagoon.

Papa Kit's Marina and Fishing Lagoon is an adventure camp located at Silot Bay, Poblacion Liloan, Cebu. It's a bit far from the city but there are many ways on how to get there (i.e. jeepney, bus, V-hire, private car). In our case, the group had its rendezvous at SM City Cebu where we can easily take a ride at the V-hire terminal. We took the route going to Danao for PHP 50.00. We just told the driver to drop us at Papa Kit's and it's as simple as that. It took us half an hour or so before we arrived at the place. We were dropped at the back gate of Papa Kit's. If you pass along the main road, you shouldn't miss the main entrance with its big signage which is on the right-hand side of the road.

Welcome!
They are open from Monday to Sunday: 6:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. Well, they do accept overnight stay but all rides will be closed at 6:00 P.M.

Rates.

Each activity is quite pricey and it will take a great hole in your pocket if you want to try everything. However, we were offered to have their SUMMER PROMO which is priced at PHP 450.00 / pax. This package includes (1) Entrance, (2) Combo Meal, (3) Zipline (2-way), (4) Hanging Bridge, (5) Horseback Riding, (6) Fishing Rod w/ Bait (4 hours). That's a good deal, isn't it?

The Shuttle Ride.
Since they have a vast area, they offer free shuttle ride that will take you to your desired destination.

Before I show you our adventure, let me just share to you some of the attractions in this place.

Rooms for rent for those who wish to stay overnight.

Wake Park.

I guess this is (or was) an aviary.

Wall Climbing & Hanging Bridge.

ATV.

Picnic Area.

Before I really show you our adventure, let me share to you our BEFORE faces. ^^
(Okay, so there's a reason why Cebu is ranked by the Time Magazine as the 9th selfiest city of the world.
We cooperate to maintain or might as well improve that standing. HAHA.)

This is really is it! Let the adventure begin!
First off: Zipline
Are we ready or are we nervous? What do you think?

The view is much better at the top.

And off we go!
You get to have your pair on your first ride.

C F  a n d  h e r  n e w - f o u n d  f r i e n d .

 N e l  a n d  A u b r i e .

B o n e t  a n d  y o u r s  t r u l y .

The view from the other side.

This time, you get to zip on your own!

Flying is quite addictive, eh? I could be a bit terrified at first but I just adore heights. That's being fearless! I just wanna try it again!

Next Activity:  The activity on our promo was only for the hanging bridge but we were just asked to pay an additional PHP 50.00 to upgrade it to Jungle Obstacle.

The first course is just a simple Hanging Bridge. The next one is still the same but with a twist, the staff will shake the bridge using a rope connected to it.

The Leap of Faith. Then, ascend the Rope Ladders. Hooh! Talk about Tarzan!

Yes, we made it! But wait, someone's missing! Aubrie?

Okay, so after 48 years of encouraging her, she finally mustered her courage and there she went like AAAHHHH!

Then, the Postman's Walk. Well, it's not as difficult as you think.

Together with our ever courageous and cool guide, Kuya Jhong! Actually, all of their staff are very friendly, funny and so accommodating. Thumbs up for you guys!

The Earthquake Bridge. Aftershocks, anyone? ^^

Give us a break!

The Double Plank Bridge.

Finally! Victory is ours!

It was a very exhausting yet a very satisfying course. No pain, no gain as they say. The only downside is that they don't have hand gears so it's a bit painful for the hands since you really need to grip on the ropes.

After all that shouting and laughing and moving, it's time to chow down!

The promo is inclusive of this meal but this Pork Belly Combo Meal costs PHP 120.00 which comes with a 200 ml soda. If you bring your own foods, the corkage fee is from PHP 200.00 - PHP 500.00.

Off we go to our next destination: the Fish Pond.
We just visited the place and weren't able to try fishing due to time constraint.

Catch your fishes. Have them cooked in that restaurant. Eat your catch. It comes with a price though. Each kilo costs PHP 190.00. If you just want to try fishing, my friend told me that you can just free the fishes.

The last but not the least: Horseback Riding.

Marcus and I.
According to some people who have tried this, horseback riding is just a lax activity. Hey ho, wait till you get to know Marcus! He is such an energetic horse. He just likes to run. He even ran while I was still on him. I was like PHEW! But that was a good experience. Try Marcus!

The white horse is here but wait, where's the prince charming? LOST! HAHA

It's getting darker!

A great escape and we could do this all night!

See our AFTER faces? We took a bus going to SM on our way home for only PHP 20.00.

Papa Kit's is indeed a perfect place to have fun and adventure together with your family and friends. A perfect getaway to enjoy the serenity of nature while unleashing your daring spirit. It was really a tiresome yet a fun-filled afternoon. What's great was spending this time with super friends! This trip made me want to explore more heights and to have more unusual yet exciting adventures. We may not have the same idea of adventure but just keep this in mind, the biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams. :)
