Co Jordan Talaba / Bangus Eatery
"Don't give them fish. Teach them how to fish."
One fine summer morning, my family decided to take a break from our usual dining experience and opted for something in which we can enjoy the beauty of nature, the taste of good food and the thrill of a new activity. All these three we found in one of the talked-about seafood restaurant in Consolacion, Cebu - Co Jordan Talaba / Bangus Eatery. If you are from Cebu City, it is located just before you reach SM City Consolacion. The road that will lead you to this place is on the right-hand side of the Central Nautical Highway and you might also include BPI Consolacion and a gasoline station (forgot the name) as your landmarks. You can hire a tricycle from there or a private ride would be more convenient as the road going there is so dusty.
The place itself is not really that impressive. It's a simple place but it's a convenient one. Aside from the food they are proud of, you can find other products there like fruits, chips, and many more. They also have karaoke and a few computers for browsing the internet. They offer free tables near the entrance. The cottages which they offer at different rates are located near the pond and are better choices especially when you want to try fishing.
And these! are good for my eyes! As I looked at them, my mind were already showing images of how they will be cooked and my tongue was already imagining the taste. Nomnomnom. ^^
You can buy their seafood by kilo and you can choose how they're going to be cooked (shown on the tarp). They also have ready to serve dishes just in case your stomach can't wait.
Below are some pictures of their cottages by the pond. You can enjoy the view, watch other people fish or simply take pleasure in the cool breeze.
While waiting for your foods to be prepared and served, one enjoyable way to pass the time and also the highlight of the place is fishing. You have to rent the fishing rod and buy the fishing bait and feeds. You have to buy the fish that you can catch at a price of PHP 200 / kilo and an additional of PHP 100 if you want them to cook it for you.
Yes, make way for the food spread!
I want to eat them again esp. the oyster and the crab! (insert drooling face here...)
After eating such a scrumptious lunch, we went fishing again. At the end of the day, we caught about 2 kilos of milkfish.
It was such an enjoyable afternoon. Not only we enjoyed good food but we also really enjoyed fishing. It was not that easy but it'll teach you the value of patience. teehee. And so let me end this post with one of the greatest valuable lessons fishing can give you:
Give them fish and you'll feed them for a day. Teach them how to fish and you'll feed them forever.
Till next post, lovies. Ciao!
