There comes a point in our lives when we tend to feel that life has been putting too much weight on our shoulders thus dragging us to the ground. Pressure, stress, misery, confusion, anxiety, personal relationships, etc. may be few of the reasons why we fall to the bottom but what's important is we know how to break away from the poisons of this modern world we are living in. As the Japanese proverb goes, "Fall seven times, stand on eight." I fell seven times and now I'm on my eighth. :)

Okay! Too much for the drama^^ For a person who loves heights, like me, Tops Skyline Garden is a good place to break away from the modern world. It is situated 2,000 feet above sea level on the hills of Busay, Lahug where you can get an amazing view of Metro Cebu and the islands of Mactan and Olango. You will really feel like you are on the top of the world. It's like you are one with nature while looking down at a slow yet actually a very busy city.
How to get to this wonderful place? There are two ways. First is by taxi or by car. However, by taxi is quite expensive and some other taxi drivers will ask for an extra amount (no good, right?) and the ride will not be as exciting as the second way. The second way is by motorcycle. You need to go to JY Square Mall in Lahug. From there, hail a motorcycle and try to negotiate well before getting on. In our case, we were able to have a PHP50 ride, one-way, without the waiting fee. Lucky!

The entrance fee is PHP100 and you can already stay there for an unlimited time and by the way it's open 24/7. They also have a Kitchen Bar so no worries if you don't like to bring any foods with you but I suggest you do because foods there are expensive. Don't worry! There's no corkage fee. Also, if you want to stay until late at night, make sure you bring something that will make you warm. Jacket, beer, boyfriend, girlfriend, (aww. rated SPG. sorry.-.-), etc. etc. etc.You will really feel cold when the temperature drops. brrr.

Our trip to Tops was really a day to remember. A day when we appreciated the charm of Cebu, the beauty of nature and the glory of life. The way to the top. Will it be easy? Nope. Worth it? Absolutely. Definitely a must-return place.
