"With every choice you make,  you create your life."

Life is all about making choices. Our choices may either make or break us. Whatever it is, always do your best to make the right ones and always do your best to learn from the wrong ones. A dear friend of ours, we believe, have made a good choice and to celebrate that wondrous moment, we decided to eat out (again). However, the real challenge here is how to feed six hungry birds on a limited budget. (buuu...am I too serious? HAHA) We, too, faced a lot of choices. From light snacks to unlimited food choices. After a thorough discussion, we ended up having an early dinner at Manggahan. (at last!)

Manggahan, which means mango plantation in English, is a restaurant located at Wilson St., Apas, Lahug. The inspiration of the name is the big mango tree that can be found at the back part of the restaurant. You can choose to dine inside the air-conditioned room or outside in a garden setting. My friends and I went there at around 4:00 PM. We originally opted for the garden setting but we were awfully attacked by mosquitoes so we decided to go inside the room. At that time, there were few customers so it was easy for us to transfer to another table but I bet it would not be easy for us to do so if it happened at night. This place is much more popular for chilling out in the evening. A lot of people really enjoy drinking, eating and listening to the live band. If you don't want your Manggahan experience to be noisy, then better go there at an early time.

Our Order.

Garlic Rice (Platter) @ PHP 48
hmmm. for me, it was not so garlicky~
Halang-halang Baboy og Baka @ PHP 68
Monggos Puno sa Subak @ PHP 68
Pork Barbecue @ PHP 8
Sizzling Pork Sisig @ PHP 128
Mango Shake @ PHP 48
We also had the Pork Belly but I wasn't able to take a picture of it and it was not really a good choice. The meat wasn't really that tender and I didn't understand the taste. My personal favorites are Sizzling Pork Sisig, Halang-halang and the Pork Barbecue (it was really good, I can even eat the pork skin!). The Mango Shake was really refreshing and the sweetness level was good enough for me. The foods were like local food shops' dishes taken to the next level. They taste good and very affordable. I also commend how fast they served our order.

My Manggahan Mates.

The choice that we made may not be the best in town but it definitely made us go home with full stomachs. Mission accomplished! ^^
