Reminiscing Sagada: Day 1

Sometimes, we look back on our past to remind us about the things that gave us those life-affirming moments. We look back on our past just to revitalize us. We look back on our past to bring back our shaky passion to its old glory. We look back but never should we dwell on our past. Yes, they help us mold to be the person we are of today but we should as well accept the fact that there are some things which ought to stay in the past; that no matter what we do, we can never bring them back. Reflect why they happened or never did, enjoy the present, embrace the change because there are surely a lot of opportunities ahead of you to create happier moments. Let's not waste our precious time dreaming or regretting, instead, we should be more grateful of the things we have in the present.
My Sagada experience, together with my girl friends, is one moment that I like to revisit every now and then and which I think is worthy to share with you guys. It was indeed a cool summer to remember when adventure met relaxation. They say that broken hearts go to Sagada; I say brave hearts do. There are just a lot of enthralling activities you can do there which some will I share with you in this three-part post. We had a 3-day, 2-night trip so lezz go over Day 1 and keep posted for the next two days of our exhilarating Sagada excursion.
DAY 1
An overnight travel from Manila brought us to the Eighth Wonder of the World, the Banaue Rice Terraces. Studies indicate that it took the Ifugaos more than 2000 years to build their stone-walled terraces; the highest, best built and most extensive in the world.

2. Bay-yo Rice Terraces View Point
Located in Bontoc, Mountain Province, this is also one of the most popular stopovers as you go your way to Sagada. The lush terraces and the colorful little town make it a spectacular view.
3. Sagada Homestay Inn & Diner
Just in time for lunch, we arrived at Sagada Homestay Inn & Diner. A place which offers a relaxing view of the quaint, little town and an area intended for bonfire.

One of the awaited activities in Sagada is caving. We had the options to explore Sumaguing Cave or to have the Cave Connection, explore both Lumiang and Sumaguing Cave, which is unarguably more difficult and takes longer time. We were interested in Cave Connection but by then our bodies were extremely exhausted due to the long travel the previous night. So, we just decided to have the former.
