Who says falling in love is easy? It never was, it never is and it will never be. Love is like a business, you need to have the courage and the investment, and you should be a risk taker. The utmost important is being a risk taker. Once you take the risk, that is the time that you will know whether you flunk or you succeed. Taking the risk as most people say means that you need to tell the person that you love him/her. But I'll just ask you, what if you are the girl? Here comes the complicated life of a Filipina.
Most of our elders might say that girls should have delicadeza. When a girl falls in love, she should keep her feelings to herself, and wait for the boy to confess his love. But, hello? We are now in the 21st century, is this still a concern? Does she really have to wait? What if the guy doesn't know her existence? Will she just make herself contented, and satisfied with a stolen glance or a stare? That will just continuously hurt her or maybe frustrate her. I guess we have already seen in movies that at times, girls are the one that make the first move. But, hello again? That's a film. This is reality. When seen in movies, it looked so quite easy but in real life, I bet that it is a difficult thing to do. It is also an unusual sight to see a girl confessing her feelings to a man.
We do not own the minds of all the people. We can't stop them from their judgments. We can't force them to outgrow the culture that they knew from their parents, their grandparents and great grandparents. Another thing, it really takes courage for a girl to do this kind of thing, and she should be ready for the consequences. How about when she gets dumped? It will affect her pride as well as her dignity. So what now? Should we stick to the status quo? Should we really take a major effort in taking care of how we really feel, and keep it as invisible as it can be? Well, the answer is all up to you. If you have the courage, go on. It's your life and I don't think the comments of other people will still be an issue. They are not involved, anyway. On the contrary, if you're a girl with a great hold of your culture and tradition, just don't force yourself, just let it be, maybe it will also be a help to save your heart from useless heartaches and heartbreaks. Whatever your decision is, I know that it will just serve you right. Each of us is unique so don't bother about what other people say, be it your parents, friends, or colleagues. After all, girls are always unpredictable.
GO GIRLS!!!
Till next post, lovies. Ciao!
